Wanted: After School Educator for 2-3 Elementary School Students

After-school educational experience requested for 2-3 elementary school students.

Ideal candidate will be able to

  • pick children up from the school
  • oversee homework at a local house
  • do one educational activity (e.g., Math, Science, Music, or Spanish).

If hired, you must commit to being with the children from 2:30pm (when school gets out) to 6pm for 2 to 5 days per week. First applicants will have their choice of days. Atlanta school begins January 4, but you can start after January 9.

You would be responsible for 2 to 3 students in first and second grade (6-8 years old).

What the job entails: If hired, you would pick the children up from school, walk them to their family’s home, and oversee them until 6 PM. You would give the children a snack and oversee their homework before engaging them in an activity (e.g.science experiment, math game, music, or Spanish topic). Children may also have free play and other activities

Transportation: Children may be walked or driven home.┬áCandler Park (30307), from Mary Lin Elementary to family’s home 0.6 miles away near Little Five Points. You must provide your own transportation.

Compensation: $55/afternoon (~$15.7/hour)

This is a great way to build your resume. Last year’s hiree is now teaching full-time.
