The IT Marketing & Communications Office is looking for a high performing Digital Communications Assistant. IT Marketing & Communications exists to strengthen the organizational influence and client engagement of Georgia Tech IT leveraging compelling marketing and communications. The Digital Communications Assistant will serve a vital role in creating and developing multimedia (audio/video) content for customer stories, external promotional social videos, service marketing videos, and other enterprise-wide projects. This person will be tasked with multiple ongoing communications and office related projects, including interviewing members of the IT community for stories and co-developing marketing pieces.
The ideal candidate will be a strong self-starter who has an eye for the details and the drive to meet or exceed deadlines. The candidate should be able to record and edit video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management and archiving project media.
Many of the communications pieces will have a strong technical focus and will require one-on-one interviews with IT leaders and subject matter experts to synthesize complex concepts for the everyday reader. As such, candidates should be comfortable approaching anyone in the Georgia Tech IT community and work independently, as well as part of a team to establish project deliverables.
- Video editing and production experience is required, as is proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Experience producing motion graphics in Adobe After Effects preferred.
- Candidates should be prepared to provide samples of work.
- Must be a current undergraduate student at Georgia Tech. Mass Media, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing major preferred.
Hours: Must be available to work 10 hours/week during the school year. Additional hours may be possible during breaks and in the summer. Work hours are flexible, but must be scheduled during standard weekday business hours (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday). This position will report directly to a student team leader under the supervision of the IT Marketing & Communications Director.
