Dr. Ken Anderson – Holy Recognition, Batman!

This talk will focus on two pathfinding projects: 1) an ethnographically-informed research project on facial recognition in China; and 2) a mixed reality Batman experiment in Southern California. These are explorations and probes into people’s behaviors and ecosystem landscapes to give us line of sight for new business and technology opportunities.

Dr. Ken Anderson is an anthropologist, who is a Principal Engineer in Next Generation and Standards at Intel Corporation. He does pathfinding at the intersection of technology, strategy, and the human experience to drive towards creating technology that enables us to have richer relationships, a just society, and an enjoyable life. He has taught at Bethel University, Brown University, UC Health Sciences Center, and was recently the James Wei Professor at Princeton University. He did his anthropological graduate degree at Brown University and his theology degree at Bethel Seminary.
