Communications Student Assistant

JOB PURPOSE
Assist with marketing and communications collateral development, along with administrative functions of an office. Must have good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work with various publics necessary. May be required to assist with special projects.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Communications Support:
• Design and implement promotional graphics for digital signage, Social Media, and web use
• Update the website through a content management system, including:
o Producing graphics for the website
o Transfer of word processing content, maintaining all grammar and styles
o Taking photos
o Cropping and re-formatting images
• Assist with social media efforts, including the posting and monitoring of content on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
• Produce video content in the style of Gifs, v-logs, interviews, and montages
• Assist leadership with PowerPoint, video conferencing, and other communications formats leveraging technology
• Ensure marketing materials comply with Georgia Tech’s branding guidelines
• Assist with management of CRM database
• Assist with metrics collection, data entry, reporting efforts, and other projects as assigned by supervisor
• Assistance in special projects and events
• Perform related duties as assigned

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
• Must be familiar with print and digital formats (native files, JPG, TIFF, PNG, EPS, PDF, etc.)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Suite program (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience working in graphic design
• Experience working in social media
• Experience working with HTML a plus
• Video production and editing a plus
• Photography skills a plus
• Flexible schedule
• A self-motivator, not afraid to share ideas
• Ability to work on deadline, and to share tasks to accomplish complex projects as a team
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

 

Internships start out at $9/hour for 5-10 hours a week. The position is for Summer 2019 semester, but can be renewed pending student review.
