Atlanta Braves Communications Coordinator

This position requires a strong communicator with advanced knowledge of baseball and the media landscape who will proactively work to build and enhance the image of the Atlanta Braves and their players. Find out more here.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of the club’s baseball communications strategy
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with the media members who cover the Atlanta Braves
  • Assist with the production of the organization’s press releases for baseball communications announcements
  • Work in partnership with the rest of the baseball communications department to write daily pregame and postgame notes packages for all 162 Braves games
  • Handle all media credential requests
  • Manage the press box at SunTrust Park on gamedays
  • Write articles for internal publications
  • Create internal talking points when needed for executives, staff, or player interviews
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • BA degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • At least two years of experience in a media relations/baseball communications capacity, preferably with a professional organization
  • Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced baseball knowledge
  • Proactive, organized, and detail oriented person who can prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and occasional holidays
  • Understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and an ability to relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds on all levels within the company
  • Must complete successful criminal background and credit checks
