The short video above accompanies a paper written by Jennifer Kye on Synesthesia for an independent study with Dr. Anne Pollock. Read her essay here: Synesthesia – The Realities of Multiple Perception

“The reason I chose synesthesia to be my focus was not only because I find the condition fascinating in itself, but because I like how the topic tied in both abstract and concrete concepts. It’s something you’d associate with more artistic matters, but I found a fair amount of hard data in the scientific pursuit to understand it. I feel that it fits in well with what the LMC major is all about, because it’s a liberal arts degree that is also heavily steeped in science. I love that I got the best of both worlds, where I didn’t just learn the “cold, hard facts” but the cultural context that surround them as well.”   -Jenni Kye
